A Rainy Holland Ranch wedding

Madeline and Albert were married on a rainy November day, 11.11.11 to be exact. The rain unfortunately didn’t want to cooperate with us and pretty much poured the majority of the time. Thankfully, we did end up with about 10 minutes following the ceremony where we were able to run outside for some shots of the new Mr. + Mrs. We were actually able to enter the reception early if you can believe it! They partied the night away and just had so much fun… Maddie’s mom and friends even broke into a flashmob on the dance floor!

2011 was filled with so many amazing highlights. I met tons of wonderfully unique couples, cried at more than one father/daughter dance, laughed out loud during bridal toasts and danced with quite a few inebriated wedding guests. I wouldn’t have changed one moment of it. It is what makes me absolutely love what I do. I love the couples I meet and the moments I get to experience and capture. I truly cannot wait to see what 2012 has in store for me. Best wishes to you and your loved ones in the new year. I hope to meet you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for but just to name a few… I am thankful for my awesome family (My Cayden is getting so big and learning something new everyday – Taylor just LOVES school which is a big change from how I felt way back in the day so I am thankful for that – and Ezrah is just growing into such a young man, it’s so great to watch), my super sweet hubby who is just a downright amazing husband and father, for the first year that we just spent in our new home (and the updates we are making!), and my wonderful photography business that allows me to do two things that I love photography + meet amazing new couples! I am so thankful for each and every client who has selected me from all of the photographers out there to capture this time in their lives. Whether it is your wedding day, your growing families or just because I treasure every moment I spend with you and I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting in me and allowing me to live out my dreams. Thank you.

Earlier this month I had the great pleasure in participating in an amazing workshop held by Jen Huang a wonderful New York wedding photographer. It was 3 days of learning, listening, inspiring, and most importantly shooting! I shot the majority of the workshop using my film camera and I am so in love with the results. Kerry + Joe had a gorgeous wedding at one of my all time favorite San Luis Obispo wedding venues, Holland Ranch. I don’t know why I just love this gorgeous ranch so much but I do. Oh, wait I do know why…. a gorgeous mountain backdrop, a pond + boat, open fields and reception barn all at one location are just a few of the reasons. So you throw this drop dead beautiful location together with a super sweet (and yes, also equally gorgeous couple) into the mix and I am one happy photographer. Paso Robles Engagement session – Emily + Chris

Emily and Chris are getting married next year at Zenaida Cellars and it is going to be awesome. How do I know it’s going to be awesome you may ask yourself? Well, the main factor for an awesome wedding is two awesome people of course! Plus a crazy amount of love. Emily + Chris are awesome and in love and more so much more. I personally think one thing that is so important in a relationship is being able to just laugh together and have fun. Emily + Chris could so easily snuggle together and just make each other laugh. You could see that they just enjoy being around each other. And it rubbed off because I had a great time being around them too. We ventured around two of their favorite Paso Robles wineries. First I met them out at Halter Ranch a gorgeous vineyard that looks like it was snagged straight out of the South and then we went out to Justin vineyards. Both are dropped dead gorgeous locations and a perfect backdrop to capture Emily + Chris.
