Elise and Brandon had a intimate and very charming San Ysidro Ranch wedding. The guest count totaled 22 including the 2 kiddos in attendance and it really was such a pleasure and privilege to be there with their family and very close friends (even if I was working). Now I couldn’t put this post up without mentioning that these two love birds actually hit things off way high in the sky, on a southwest flight to be exact. Which I would like to say is my 2nd couple to meet that way. So note to all of my single friends out there, the next time you are going to board a plane maybe it would be a good idea to not wear the MOST comfortable pair of pants you own and opt for a more fashionable look. Lol. But in all seriousness, it really was so much fun to watch these two throughout the day. It was so fantastic to see a couple that is so in love interact with each other and their friends. Numerous times I would catch them just watching each other with this look of pure happiness on their faces. It was a really wonderful day to be a part of. I should also mention that the day went super smooth thanks to the wonderful Sophie of Amazing Day Events!

Bishops Peak engagement session

Meghan and Nate have been together for 10 years if you can believe it! I have a feeling there are going to be a few jokes at the wedding next year about why it took Nate so long to pop the question. There is something great that comes with that many years together though. These two are just so comfortable with each other. They had absolutely no problem laughing, snuggling and anything else that I asked them to do which makes for amazing pictures but also says something about their relationship. For their engagement session we ran around Bishops Peak and then headed over to Los Osos. I truly can’t wait for their wedding next year at the Dana Powers Barn. Meghan is going to make an absolutely stunning bride don’t you think?!?

And Sawyer makes three.

I met Danielle earlier this year although it seems like I have known her for much longer than that. It’s strange how with some people you just click. Danielle is also a wedding photographer, a very talented one I might add, and maybe it’s because we share common interests but for whatever reason she feels like an old friend. When her and her boyfriend Adam recently adopted their new puppy Sawyer and wanted some family pics with the new addition I didn’t hesitate to say yes!

A vintage Santa Barbara wedding at the Rockwood Women’s Club

Camryn and Brian had a beautiful Santa Barbara wedding at a charming venue just blocks away from the mission. The wedding was completely vintage inspired with the most carefully thought out details down to the school bus that transported the bridal party to the ceremony and reception site, what a perfect idea since they are both teachers! It was truly a stunning day with the most gorgeous details. I knew even before I arrived at the venue that I was going to be in heaven with all of the amazingness that I just knew Camryn was going to come up with. Wow, did she far exceed any expectations that I had and to give her even more credit every last item (with the exception of the wooden table numbers) were all DIY’d by the bride and her best buddies! Some of my favorite wedding details included the hand sewn flower pins that were used as seating cards, the oh-so-amazing milk and cookie desert station (my mouth is still watering over the double chocolate chip cookies) and of course the drink station with fresh basil vodka lemonade that guests were welcomed with. Oh and don’t even get me started with the craziness that ensued with the photo booth! It was an all around stunning wedding with a fabulous group of people who had an amazing time. It was definitely my kind of wedding and I am so thankful I was chosen to capture it all.

All decor including the wooden centerpiece boxes were DIY by the bride and her friends.

A gorgeous Avila Beach engagement session

Charla and I went to high school together and have been buddies on Facebook for a while. I’m pretty sure once she changed her status from “in a relationship” over to “engaged” I hit the like button and crossed my fingers that I would hear from her. Lucky for me I did hear from her and she mentioned that not only was she in need of a photographer (that would be me) she had also decided upon the amazing Holland Ranch as her venue. YAY!!! I am so excited to capture their wedding in just a few months and hopefully I will see some familiar faces. For their Avila Beach engagement session we started off at the Avila Valley Barn. It seemed like the perfect place to start our session and spend some time together as I snapped away. After a bit we headed over to a few other gorgeous locations close by finishing up at at a location overlooking the ocean just as the sun was tucking behind the hills. The perfect way to end a fabulous engagement session if you ask me.

Jamie and Chris’s San Luis Obispo engagement session.
When I met Jaime it almost seemed like fate put us in the same place at the same time. She was visiting Holland Ranch and I just so happened to be there photographing wedding (she was there much earlier before the ceremony started). She has this amazing smile and you can tell right away that she is so much fun to be around. Things worked out and here we are just months before she ties the knot out at the Ranch and I get to capture it all. But first I got to meet her soon to be hubby Chris when we ran all through SLO during their engagement session.

A Rainy Holland Ranch wedding

Madeline and Albert were married on a rainy November day, 11.11.11 to be exact. The rain unfortunately didn’t want to cooperate with us and pretty much poured the majority of the time. Thankfully, we did end up with about 10 minutes following the ceremony where we were able to run outside for some shots of the new Mr. + Mrs. We were actually able to enter the reception early if you can believe it! They partied the night away and just had so much fun… Maddie’s mom and friends even broke into a flashmob on the dance floor!

Santa Barbara wedding photographer

2011 was filled with so many amazing highlights. I met tons of wonderfully unique couples, cried at more than one father/daughter dance, laughed out loud during bridal toasts and danced with quite a few inebriated wedding guests. I wouldn’t have changed one moment of it. It is what makes me absolutely love what I do. I love the couples I meet and the moments I get to experience and capture. I truly cannot wait to see what 2012 has in store for me. Best wishes to you and your loved ones in the new year. I hope to meet you soon!
