el capitan canyon wedding

The morning of Elena and Cody’s El Capitan Canyon wedding I woke up to a very loud and bright thunder and lightning storm. You can only imagine the thoughts that I had knowing they were having both an outdoor ceremony and reception. Not only were they having an outdoor wedding but Elena and Cody have been the only couple to ever brave the rain during their engagement session. I really had knots in my stomach thinking of the possibility of being rained out for both their engagement and wedding day! Thankfully the storm later subsided and we never actually got more than a few drops of rain. The skies stayed overcast but it actually was very beautiful. Elena and Cody’s El Capitan Canyon wedding was perfectly purple and had a great relaxed family feel to it. One really special moment was watching Elena’s dad walk her halfway down the aisle and he then passed her off to her brother who completely the journey down the aisle with his sister until he handed her off to Cody. Elena and her brother have such a close relationship. It was amazing to watch how much it meant to him to walk his sister down to her soon to by hubby. I love watching family connections like that. 🙂 After a lovely ceremony overlooking the ocean in the distance it was time to head down to the reception. I’m not sure if I have to say anything more than mexican food, smores and dancing under the stars. It was awesome! And a special congratulations to the gorgeous couple who are not only now Mr. + Mrs. but are soon going to be Mom + Dad!!!
